- After her death, husband Dinand Woesthoff wrote and recorded his tribute to her: "Dreamer (Gussie's Song)". Most Dutch radio stations aired it on the day of her funeral (which would have been her 35th birthday), February 4, 2004, at 12:00 pm. Directly after the single hit the streets a week later on Feb. 11, it entered the major Dutch hit lists at the No. 1 position. All revenues of this single are donated to the Dutch cancer institute, the Koningin Wilhelmina Fonds.
- She was buried on February 4th, the day she would have turned 35. The funeral, restricted to family and close friends, was attended by Johnny de Mol, Katja Schuurman and Chris Zegers, with his girlfriend Wendy Van Dijk.
