- Born in 1942 (she shaved 2 years off early on), Joanna Pettet seems to have disappeared from the acting world since 1990.
- Studied acting at New York City's Neighborhood Playhouse under Sanford Meisner.

- She was one of the the last people to see actress Sharon Tate alive. She visited her friend in Benedict Canyon for lunch on the afternoon of August 8, 1969. Later on that night Sharon was brutally murdered, along with four others, by the Manson gang.
- She was the companion and caregiver for Sir Alan Bates towards the end of his life. The two actors were lifelong friends ever since they co-starred on Broadway in 1964's "Poor Richard".
